16x 10mm LED Circle "Cooper"

February 24th 2016

Accepts either 16 10mm LEDs or 16 5mm LEDs.
The finished device can be driven by a range of microcontrollers including Arduino, Espruino, PICAXE, PIC and Raspberry Pi.
The LEDs are controlled by two shift registers (74HC595), with each LED being connected to one of the 16 outputs (8 outputs per shift register IC), meaning the display doesn't have to be constantly refreshed.
Usage Suggestions
The circular arrangement of LEDs makes it ideal for many decorative and functional projects; binary clock, temperature gauge, binary counter, shelf light and many many more!
Latest build instructions here (PDF).
For PICAXE, Arduino, Espruino and Raspberry Pi.
